About the book

The Hunger Games .

by Suzanne Collins

In the nation of Panem, the Capitol forces each district to send two teenagers to compete in the annual Hunger Games, a televised fight to the death. When sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take her younger sister’s place, she is sent to the arena alongside Peeta Mellark. What begins as a struggle for survival becomes a story about sacrifice, power, rebellion, and the human cost of oppression.
